Workplace Inclusion & Career Empowerment

  • Focus Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) & SDG 10
  • Role Clinical Consultant, Accessibility Coordinator
  • Partners Google, INPAQ Technology
Executive Summary (TL;DR)
  • The Objective: Individuals with hearing loss frequently encounter communication barriers and environmental limitations during job hunting, leading to systemic inequality in the workplace.
  • The Action: Partnered with leading tech corporations (Google & INPAQ) to organize immersive workplace experience camps. These initiatives provided 1-on-1 mock interviews, resume clinics, and demonstrated best practices for an acoustically accessible work environment.
  • The Impact: Successfully bridged the gap between corporate HR and the hearing-impaired community. The program boosted candidates' interview confidence and instilled a core message in both employers and talent: "Expertise transcends barriers—disability does not define professional value."

Setting the Standard for Inclusive Events

As an audiologist, I ensured that every aspect of the corporate visits was meticulously designed to eliminate auditory barriers, serving as a live demonstration of a truly inclusive workplace.

Acoustic Control

Events were hosted in spaces equipped with sound-absorbing padded walls to minimize reverberation and optimize speech clarity.

Assistive Technology

Deployed remote microphone systems (FM systems) directly connecting speakers to participants' hearing aids/cochlear implants.

Sign Language & Visuals

Provided professional sign language interpretation alongside synchronized real-time speech-to-text, including mobile typing setups during dynamic office tours.

Scalable Initiative

The Corporate Immersion Program

Rather than hosting traditional seminars, I spearheaded a scalable "Corporate Immersion Program." By partnering directly with industry leaders, we brought individuals with hearing loss into actual corporate headquarters. The program unified 1-on-1 resume clinics, immersive mock interviews, and corporate tours to build actionable skills and foster direct understanding between neurodiverse talents and corporate HR.

End-to-End Project Lifecycle

Beyond typical event planning, I independently managed the full lifecycle of these cross-industry initiatives, ensuring clinical precision at every step.

Phase 1: Pre-event

Participant Assessment

Profiled the specific communication needs and assistive devices of each participant prior to the events to ensure customized, on-site support.

Phase 2: Preparation

Corporate Liaison

Acted as the primary bridge between the NGO and corporate HR departments, advising recruitment teams on inclusive communication etiquette prior to the mock interviews.

Phase 3: Execution

Accessibility Deployment

Evaluated the corporate venues and executed the real-time deployment of FM systems, optimal seating for lip-reading, and coordinated mobile speech-to-text setups.

Breaking the Stigma, Building the Future
"These corporate visits were designed to be a two-way street. While we empowered individuals with hearing loss to refine their career tools and regain confidence, we simultaneously placed them in front of corporate recruiters. By experiencing their capabilities firsthand, companies realize that accommodating hearing needs is not a burden, but a gateway to unlocking exceptional, dedicated talent."
